The Year I Wasn’t Expecting: My Journey from Burnout to Kallpa Move
If you had told me at the start of this year that a breaking point would lead to a new beginning, I wouldn't have believed you. Like many of you, my daily reality was defined by spreadsheets, back-to-back meetings, and the constant hum of a demanding corporate career. I was the "corporate girl" with a never-ending to-do list, and a heart that was starting to feel the heavy weight of burnout.

The Reality of the Corporate Grind and Motherhood
This year didn’t go the way I planned. Burnout hit harder than I ever thought it would. I found myself caught in the "messy middle" - juggling a high-pressure role while trying to be the present, loving mother my boys deserve.
Trying to "hold it all together" felt impossible. It wasn't just mental exhaustion; it was physical. I realised I had stopped moving for myself. I had stopped breathing with intention. This struggle is where the seeds of Kallpa Move were planted. I knew I needed a change - not just for my career, but for my soul.
Finding "Kallpa": Why I Started an Intentional Movement Brand
Kallpa Move was born from a personal need to reconnect. As a Peruvian movement enthusiast, I turned back to my roots. Kallpa means strength in Quechua, the language of the Inca Empire. But it isn't just physical power; it’s the kind of strength that grows gently, with breath and presence.
Years ago, I discovered I have hypermobility. Pilates became my sanctuary - a way to find balance and a sense of "home" in my own body. It taught me that movement can be both soft and strong. I wanted to create a brand that shared that feeling: contemporary, minimalist Pilates and fitness accessories that don’t just support your body, but inspire your spirit.

Behind the Scenes: The "Messy Middle" of a Side Hustle
Building a brand isn't all aesthetic studio shots and perfect lighting. Most of Kallpa Move was built in the quiet pockets of time between corporate meetings, early mornings, and bedtime stories.
There were days of supplier stress and nights spent unpacking heavy boxes in my PJs, questioning if I could really juggle it all. But every time I held a final product - like our silicone ankle weights or grounding yoga mats - I knew it was worth it. Seeing these pieces, designed for people who value both performance and style, made the "messy middle" meaningful.

Creating Space for What Matters in 2025
As we look toward the New Year, I want to invite you to explore how your body softens and strengthens when you move with awareness. Whether you are a busy mum, a corporate professional, or someone recovering from your own version of burnout, remember that strength is something we grow through movement.
At Kallpa Move, we believe fitness equipment should seamlessly integrate into your everyday routine. It’s about creating a space where strength meets style.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to a year of moving with confidence, balance, and energy.
